Former JP Morgan executive Jon Deane has been appointed as chief executive of InfiniGold, which sells physical gold investment in a digital form. Deane joins from TCM where he was chief executive for over 18 months. Prior to that, he spent nine years in senior roles at JP Morgan, where he was most recently managing director, head of Asia Pacific commodities trading. He was previously an associate director of commodities trading at UBS and a commodities trader at Commonwealth Bank.
HUB24 has announced Debbie Last as its interim chief financial officer (CFO). She takes over from Mark Goodrick who will stay on until the end of March. Last has over 25 years’ experience in financial services and was previously a partner at KPMG London and at PwC Sydney. She was CFO of NAB Asset Management for over two years and is non-executive director of Mainstream Group Holdings and chair of its audit and risk committee. She will stay on while the company searches for a permanent replacement.
Hoa Bui has been promoted to president of the Actuaries Institute from her role as senior vice president. Bui has extensive actuarial experience and is currently partner-in-charge of actuarial and financial risk at KPMG and before that was a partner from 2004. Prior to that, Bui was an actuary at Tower Australia, AXA Australia, AC&L Staff Super Fund, Australian Casualty and Life and National Mutual.
Desktop Broker has appointed Richard Carr as senior sales executive. He was most recently a business development manager at Xplore Wealth and has held senior roles at Powerwrap, Praemium, Computershare Australia and UBS. Carr is based in Melbourne and will be responsible for overseeing Desktop Broker’s adviser support model in Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania.
Westpac has announced Anita Fung’s resignation from the board. She joined in 2018 and on also a member of the Board Risk and Compliance Committee. She will remain on Westpac’s Asia Advisory Board in October 2018.
