The SMSF Association has appointed Andrew Hamilton as chair. He has been a member of the board for over nine years and was previously chair from 2012 to 2014. He takes over from Robin Bowerman who will remain on the board as deputy chair. Hamilton is the managing director of advisory firm Hamilton and Associates. Prior to that he was managing director of SMSF administration at AMP and managing director of Cavendish Superannuation.
MyState has announced Gary Dickson will permanently join the executive team as chief financial officer (CFO). Dickson was appointed as acting CFO in October last year. He was previously CFO at ME Bank for six years and prior to that CFO at AXA Australia. He has also held senior positions with Colonial First State Group, Portfolio Partners and Commonwealth Bank.
ANZ has appointed Paul Goodwin as United States country head. Goodwin has been with ANZ for 16 years and was previously managing director of institutional for New Zealand. Prior to joining ANZ, he held positions at Credit Suisse in the UK and the National Bank of New Zealand. He will report to Farhan Faruqui, group executive international. Goodwin replaces Grant Knuckey, who recently took on the role of chief risk officer for ANZ New Zealand and Pacific.
Ben Kelleher has been appointed managing director, retail and business banking for ANZ New Zealand. He has been in the role on an interim basis for the past six months and prior to that was general manager, Auckland and Northland, for retail and business banking. Kelleher also headed up the private banking division and the strategy division.
Greg Thomas has been appointed as chief business officer at Bennelong Funds Management. He was previously chief operating officer at BennBridge in the UK and helped launch the fund. Prior to joining BennBridge he was managing director at Visium Asset UK and chief operating officer at Gruss Capital Management. Thomas will be based in Sydney and reporting to chief executive officer Craig Bingham.
Janus Henderson Investors has appointed Dinesh Kuhadas to the newly created role of credit analyst. Kuhadas will be based in Melbourne and report directly to Jay Sivapalan, head of Australian fixed interest. He joins from boutique asset manager River Capital where he has been a credit analyst for the last 12 years. He was responsible for bottom-up credit research of Australian and global issuers in investment grade and high yield credit securities, as well as private debt/loans and asset backed markets.
Heartland Group has promoted Andrew Dixson to chief financial officer from his role as head of corporate finance. He has been with the company for nine years and prior to that held senior positions with IAG New Zealand and ABN AMRO Bank NV. Michael Drumm has been promoted to general counsel and head of group risk from his position as general counsel. He has been with the company for five years and prior to this was a senior associate at Mayne Wetherell.
Christine Feldmanis has been appointed to the board of Bell Financial Group. She is currently the chair of Bell Asset Management and a director of Perpetual Equity Investment Company, IMF Bentham, FIIG Securities, Utilities of Australia and Hunter Water Corporation. Feldmanis was previously the chief financial officer of NSW Treasury Corporation and later the managing director of Treasury Group Investment Services.
